THE GREAT WHITE THRONE            Pastor Bob Chroninger

	Do You Know YOU are ACCOUNTABLE to God?!  WOW! What a concept..
but it is TRUE!!  No matter what ends mankind may go to avoid or negate it...  Man is 
still being held accountable to the holy, eternal God!! He is gracious, loving, longsuffering 
and not willing that any should perish.. (2Pet.3:9).. but once all the opportunities are gone...
there is only a fearful judgment to expect... (Heb.10:26,27,31) 
I.  THE JUDGE.. 
  A. Seated On A GREAT WHITE THRONE..  (Compare with 4:2-6) 
  B. Same Personage as 4:2-6 
    1. No name, no figure, no shape... 
    2. But.. an awful, mysterious, composed PRESENCE! 
    3. The unnamable, indescribable, eternal Godhead 
    4. Just the pure presence of the Almighty 
    5. So dreadful.. the earth and heavens are said to flee.. 
	- What an intense description.. 
	- What majesty and almightiness 
	- What terrible hopelessness of those to be judged..
 ** You See.. the day of grace was ignored, abused, and refused.. 
      Now there is no more invitation to COME UNTO ME.. Mt.11:28-30 
      Now it is the "depart from me... I never knew you." Mt.7:22,23 
II.  THE JUDGED.. 
  A. There Will Be A Resurrection of The "Rest of the Dead"  20:5 
    1. These will not be a part of the "first resurrection" ! 
	- No trumpet will sound.. these refused His promise of Salvation 
	- God's awesome power will "go forth".. 
	   - Into the seas.. & raise the lost dead 
	   - Into the graves.. & raise the lost dead 
	   - Into the place called Hades.. & retrieve all the lost.. 
    2. These are His enemies.. not His friends.. 
  B. This Great Multitude Will Suddenly Stand In His Presence.. 
    1. The "great and small".. "big sinner and little sinner"; rulers and subjects; rich 
       and poor; educated and not; the "civilized" and the barbaric; kings and beggars 
  C. There Will Be No White Robes, No Spotless Linens, No Palms.. 
    1. Just sinners stripped of all excuse... all self righteousness.. and all hope (Eph.2:12)... 
	No defense... just silence!! 
    2. Paul.. said he did not want to stand before God in his own righteousness... Phil.3:9 
III.  THE JUDGMENT.. 
  A. Books Are Opened.. 
    1. The Book(s) of Records.. 
	- Heaven keeps a record.. deeds, thoughts, feelings 
	- Every person who has ever lived is recorded... 
    "There is not an ill thought, a mean act, a scene of wrong in all your history, a dirty transaction, 
    a filthiness of speech, or a base feeling that ever found entertainment in your heart, but is there 
    described in bold hand, by its true name, and set down to your account, to be then brought forth 
    for final settlement, IF NOT CLEAN BLOTTED OUT through faith in Christ's blood before this 
    present life of yours is ended." 	J.A Seiss, THE APOCALYPSE  pg.479 
    2. The Book of Life  (another book) 
	- The only protection is to trust Christ NOW! 
	- If you don't possess the Righteousness of Christ.. Phil.3:9 
	- If you don't trust in His finished work.. there is nothing but a fearful looking to judgment..
        Heb.10:27 
	- Is Your name written down... washed, sanctified through faith in His redeeming blood? 
	- This book is opened as proof that there is help only for those who believe on the Son of God.
        Jn.3:36 
  B. Banishment...  And It Is Not Optional Then... 
    1. To the Lake of Fire.. the Antichrist & False Prophet.. 19:20 
	- 1000 years later Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire.. 20:7-10 
	- Then.. all the unbelieving of all ages are cast there as well !! 
    2. The Lake of Fire... 
	- It is a place 
	- It is a place of torment.. 
	- It is called the "second death".. but that is NOT annihilation!! 
	- It is forever and forever.. ages of the ages.. never over.. 
  C. Death and Hades Cease To Be..
 ** If You Are Not NOW a CHRISTIAN and you deliberately go on this terrible path.. what can I say? 
How can you expect to escape the judgment of hell?  Mt.23:33 
	You men of business.. 
	You people of wealth.. rich but not toward God 
	You "travelers" without concern for your immortal soul.. 
	You "almost" Christians.. Acts 26:28 
	   - On the threshold of the kingdom, but not entering in. Heb.2:2-4
