Who Is This "Jesus"? 	"SEED of THE WOMAN"           Pastor Bob Chroninger 
Trinity C.U.  12-03-00 P.M.  		 Genesis 3:1-21    		
	What a Wonderful season... Jesus The Christ.. coming into this world as a "baby" in 
Bethlehem..(it is a war torn city and no religious ceremonies are allowed this year)  The
world around us gets caught up in the "spirit" of "giving and receiving"... of "peace on 
earth".. of all the festivities and often indulgences.  But.. there is one whose coming 
made it all different... and here He is called the "Woman's Seed".... 
I.  THE PROHIBITION was BROKEN.. 
  A. Don't eat of the tree of the knowledge...  2:16,17 
    1. Because.. in the day... you shall die.. 
  B. Do eat of EVERY other tree..  2:16..  Even the Tree of Life was there!  Gen.2:9
  C. But.. You Know The Rest of The Story... 
    1. Satan questioned, caused doubt, suggested, and lied!! 3:1-5 
    2. The woman saw.. desired.. took.. and ate.. then gave to Adam.. 
	- Their eyes were opened.. to evil..   3:7 
	- They sensed their guilt.. 
	- They tried to cover their own sin.. 
	- They tried to hide from God..
II.  THE PROMISE is BESTOWED.. 
  A. God comes.. as usual..  3:8   (in the cool of the day) 
  B. God comes.. to challenge their conscience.. "Where are You?" 3:9 
  C. God comes.. to display His mercy.. they deserved to die NOW! 
    1. Paradise was "lost".. 
	- By the woman.. sin had come.. and so death by sin.. 
	- But the man was to blame... Ro.5:12 
    2. Promise was given.. 
	- By the woman.. Salvation would come.. (the woman's SEED) 
	   - He would bear the curse and remove it!! Gal.3:13 
	   - He would give His "soul" as an offering for sin.. Isa.53:10 
	   - His Sacrifice would be Once and For All !!  Heb.10:10-14 
	   - He would eventually restore Paradise.. Isa.11:6-13 
	- By the Woman, Mary.. Mt.1:20,21; Luke 1:26-38
III.  THE PROBLEM is BITTER..  3:15 
  A. There Would Be Enmity Between Satan and The Woman ! 
    1. It is typical of Israel..  the Woman is a "picture"..  Rev.12 
    2. It was through Israel.. the chosen ones.. the Messiah would come 
    3. It has been an ongoing battle of Satan and Israel... 
	- The famines in Genesis.. Ch.12; 26; 41:56; 45:6.. God at Work !! 
	- The effort of Pharaoh.. to destroy the male children..  Ex.1:15,16 
	- The Egyptian attack at the Red Sea.. Ex.14:5-10 
	- The assault of the Canaanites..  Num.14:45 
	- The plot of Haman..  Esther 3:5,6 
	- The continuous persecution of the Jews by the Gentiles.. 
  B. There Would Be Enmity Between her "seed" and Satan's "seed" 
    1. The "believer" and the unbeliever 
    2. The Christ and the Antichrist 
IV.  THE PROVIDENCE of HIS BIRTH..
 **  Her "seed".. supernatural birth of Jesus.. Her "seed" not man's !! He would enter this 
	world in a unique manner.. Jn.3:16.. virgin born 
  A. God Predicted It..  Isa.7:14; 9:6 
  B. God Picked Her.. Mary..  Luke 1:28.. 
  C. God Proved Himself.. 
    1. In the birth of Christ.. 
    2. In the "bruising" of Christ's heel.. (He rose again !!) 
	- The Sufferings He Endured.. 
	   - He was wounded for our transgressions..  Isa.535 
	   - He was bruised for our iniquities.. 
	   - He gave his "soul" an offering for our sins..  Isa.53:10 
	- The Salvation He Offers.. 
	   - Come! 	Repent!  	Believe! 	Receive! 
    3. In the "bruising" of the Serpent's "Head" 
	- Ultimately a final and complete defeat of Satan !!! 
	   - First in the "prison".. for a thousand years..  Rev.20:1-3 
	   - Then in the "Lake of Fire".. forever.. Rev.20:10 
 ** Justice Demands their (our) Death for they (we) are Guilty!  (The wages of sin is death.. Ro.6:23)
       God desires to spare the guilty!
	- Mercy Overrides.... 
	- And Grace Provides... the Substitute..  (for by grace are you saved... Eph.2:8)
	- Then Faith Appropriates the Finished Work !!   (through faith... Eph.2:8,9)

WHO IS THIS JESUS?  HE IS THE WOMAN'S SEED !!! 
   ARE YOU TRUSTING HIM THIS VERY HOUR FOR FULL AND FREE SALVATION ?? 
      NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME.. TODAY IS THE DAY!
