THE 1000 YEAR REIGN                    	Pastor Bob Chroninger 
Trinity C.U.  7-30-00 A.M.   		Revelation 20:1-10    	
	"If in this life only we have hope we are of all men most miserable." 1Cor.15:19.  I want
 to tell you there are some incredible things that will take place in the future... and our "hope"
 is a blessed one. The King is Coming.. and He will establish His kingdom here on the earth.. and
 believers will have a blessed part in it!!!
	Remember.. there are different views:
		"Post Millennialism".. Christ will come to establish His kingdom after the 1000 years.
		"A Millennialism"..   no future 1000 year reign... the millennium is now.
		" Pre Millennialsim"..   and this is what the Bible teaches!!!
I.  THE PREPARATION for THE 1000 YEAR REIGN... 
  A. The King Returns.. and rules with a "rod of iron" Ps.2:9; Rev.2:27; 12:5; 19:15 
  B. The Evil is Removed.. 
    1. The Antichrist (beast)  Rev.19:20 
    2. The False Prophet.. 
    3. The Devil.. bound for the duration.. 1000 years  Rev.20:1-3 (no uncertain terms..)
	- Who is this being? 
	   - He is a created being..  one of the highest, angel of God.. 
	   - He is called Lucifer, the son of the morning..  Is.14:12 
	   - He is described as the "seal of perfection..."  Ezek.28:12-15 
	- What happened to this being? 
	   - "How are you fallen from heaven O Lucifer.."  PRIDE...   Is.14:12,13 
	   - He wanted to be "like the Most High".. wanted to be God! 
	   - He lost his position..  Ezek.28:16..  he will lose his place Rev.12:9,10; 
		he will lose his power..  Rev.20:1-3 
	- What is the description of this being?  by his "names".. 
	   - As "serpent" he is subtle.. Gen.3:1..  deceiver.. "angel of light"  2Cor.11:3,14 
	   - As "dragon" he is fearful, mean 
	   - As "devil" he is a slanderer, liar, accuser.. Jn.8:44; Rev.12:10 
	   - As "Satan" he is our adversary.. 1Pet.5:8,9 (a roaring lion) 
	- What is the work of this being? 
	   - He opposes God.. and uses anyone he can!  Bad people, certainly; but he delights in using 
		"good" people to do bad things! 
	- What can we do??  THANK GOD THERE IS VICTORY NOW... 
	   - He may oppress us.. but he can't possess us!   1Jn.5:18
		"We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly]
             practise committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over
             and protects him -- Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the 
             evil -- and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him]." 
             ANT..  1Jn.5:18
	   - He can be and must be resisted... and he will flee.. Jas.4:7 
		- As we draw near to God.. and submit to Him! 
	   - He is subject to Christ.. "greater is He.. in us.." 1Jn.4:4 
    4. The Wicked are destroyed.. (those left alive at end of Tribulation)  Mt.25:31-46
  C. The Kingdom Is Restored.. 
    1. Thrones are set.. 20:4; 1Cor.6:2,3... "saints shall judge the world"..  "shall judge angels"
    2. Authority is given.. Luke 19:17,19.. "over ten cities... over five cities.."
II.  THE PURPOSE for THE 1000 YEAR REIGN.. 
  A. It Fulfills Prophecy.. 
    1. The King will come as all the Jews expected.. Is.11:1-11; Micah 4:1; Zeph.3:15; Zech.14:3,4,9; 
	Jn.1:49; 6:15; etc. 
    2. The Jews will be in Their Land! 
	- They will own Jesus as their Messiah..  Jer.31:31-34; Zech.12:10 
	- Their "backsliding" will be healed..  Hosea 14:1-9 
	- They will possess their possessions.. Obadiah 1:17; 
	   Ezek.37; 39:25,27,29; 40 - 48 all about the temple, land, Lord's portion, etc. 




    3. There will be a period of Peace and Prosperity..  Is.35:1,2
	- Wolf and lamb lie down together..  Is.11:6-9; 65:25 
	- Child play with serpents..  Is.11:6,8  (children will be born then..)
	- They will "beat swords into plowshares" Is.2:4; 11:6-9; Joel 3:10; Micah 4:3 
	   - They will not learn war anymore!
	- There will be abundant harvest..  Joel 3:18; Amos 9:11-15; Ezek.34:26,27 
	- There will be general knowledge of the Lord..  Joel 3:17; Ezek.39:21,22 
	- There will a desire to know God's ways.. Micah 4:2.. and walk in them. 
	- There will be extended life for the righteous..  Is.33:24; 65:20-25 
	- There will be no fear in the land..  Micah 4:4 
	- There will be a time of "holiness"  Zech.14:20,21 
  B. It Finalizes The "Promises".. 
    1. He shall reign..
	 - Over the house of Jacob forever.. angel to Mary.. Lu.1:33 
	- Over the kingdoms of this world..  Rev.11:15 
    2. He shall reward.. 
	- His faithful servants..  Lu.19 (parable of pounds) 
	- His suffering servants..  2Tim.2:12; Rev.5:10; 20:6 
III.  THE PARTICIPANTS in THE 1000 YEAR REIGN..
  A. The Jewish Saints.. resurrected at the end of the Tribulation.. (compare Rev.19:7-9 
     with Ps.50:1-6)
    1. The living, believing Jews will go into the Kingdom...
  B. The Church Age Saints.. resurrected before the Tribulation.. 1Cor.15:51,52; 1Thes.4:13-18
  C. The Tribulation Age Saints.. also resurrected at the close of the Tribulation.. Rev.20:4-6
    1. The living, believing survivors of the Tribulation will go into the Kingdom... Mt.25:34
 ** So.. The Saints of All Ages will have their place in The Kingdom Age !!!  20:6
      This is "The First Resurrection"  (and will include the believing dead of the 1000 years.
      Is.65:20)
 ** The unbelieving dead will not be resurrected until after the 1000 years.

WELL !!! WOW !!! NO WONDER THE JEWS WERE LOOKING FOR THE MESSIAH !!! 
    BUT.. THEY REJECTED HIM WHEN HE DID COME.. 

    HOW ABOUT YOU ?? 
ARE YOU REJECTING HIS RULE.. OR RECEIVING HIM GLADLY!
