THE ANGEL & THE FALL of BABYLON         	Pastor Bob Chroninger

	The First angel flew through the midst of heaven with a message for the whole world.. a 
message of the Everlasting Gospel.  Now John sees another angel following.. but he has a different
 message for the whole world... Listen... 
I.  HIS MINISTRY.. 
  A. He followed the first angel.. 
    1. Flying around the world 
    2. Speaking to all the earthdwellers.. 
    3. He spoke with a "loud" voice.. 
II.  HIS MESSAGE..  Aimed at a "Babylon".  Look at ch.17... 
 * A huge false religious system that holds dominion over the nations 
 * People will not have Christ as their Lord.. SO...
 * The "vacuum" is filled with the "false religion" 
  A. She is closely allied with the Antichrist.. 17:3 (during 1st half) 
    1. The nations are enamored with her liberality and tolerance. 17:7 
  B. She is elaborately "robed".. 
    1. Purple... Scarlet... Gold and precious stones..  17:4 
    2. What a contrast with the Other Woman of ch. 12.. clothed with sun and hated by the Antichrist.. 
  C. She holds a golden goblet.. beautiful & impressive... BUT.. 
    1. It is full of abominations.. of all the cults and "isms" 
    2. It is full of filthiness of her "fornications" (spiritual adultery) 
	- An inordinate friendship with the world is "adultery"  Jas.4:4 
	- People worshipping for God what is NOT God is "adultery" Jer.3:6-9; Hos.1,2 
  D. She is named.. "Mystery Babylon the Great" 
    1. It all began with Nimrod.. founder of "Babel" (Babylon) Gen.10,11 
    2. She is the "Mother" of "harlots".. standing symbol of false religion.  
	(bringing together the false ideologies in the final days). 
    3. She is the "abomination of the earth".. 
	- The embodiment of all the perversion of religion of all time 
	- The climax of all false worship from the beginning 
	- The breakdown of the biblical family 
	- No sacredness to marriage.. 
	- Pastors performing unholy anti-Christian, anti-family "unions" 
  E. She is "drunk" on blood...  17:6 
    1. Blood of the saints... of all time 
    2. Blood of the martyrs of Jesus.. 
  F. She made others "drunk" too..  14:8 
    1. With the "wine" of her "fornications" .. idolatry
	 - The religions of the world promote depravity, debauchery, and terribly low standards of
          morality (Observe liberal . Protestantism of today) 
	- The religions of the world.. mystery, darkness, incense burning, superstition, ignorance,
        immorality, priesthood, sprinkling, etc
  G. She Will Be Destroyed.. 
    1. This is the announcement of this angel.. (14:8) 
    2. This is the picture of chapter 17:16-18 
	- The 10 kings will hate her.. after having "loved & flattered her" 
	- The 10 kings will make her desolate and naked.. 
	- The 10 kings shall "eat her flesh" 
	- The 10 kings shall burn her with fire 
    3. This is by the will of God... 17:17 
WE ARE "CHRISTIAN UNION".. BUT WE CANNOT BE IN UNION WITH 
	EVERY OTHER RELIGION OF THE WORLD.
