THE BLAST of THE FIFTH TRUMPET         	 Pastor Bob Chroninger 
Trinity C.U.  1-9-2000  A.M.  		Revelation 9:1-12    		
	The first four Trumpet Blasts will bring severe changes on the earth, the seas, the 
rivers and lakes, and even on the sun, moon, and stars.  Cataclysmic events that should 
indeed strike godly fear into the hearts of earth's inhabitants.. 
	But listen.. the situation escavates... it gets worse.  The next three Trumpet Blasts 
are called "Woe, Woe, Woe" and will inflict pain and death upon those "unprotected."  8:13 
	When the Fifth Trumpet is Blown... 
I.  A "STAR" FALLS from THE SKY.. 
  A. Who or What?  probably Satan.. John sees it in Ch. 12 
  B. Why? 
    1. To open the abyss  (bottomless pit) 
    2. To release a horde of evil upon the earth..  Talk about a "Pandora's box"!!! 
II.  A "SMOKE" ARISES from THE ABYSS... 
  A. Like A Gigantic Furnace.. belching thick black smoke... 
    1. The sun will be darkened by the pollution.. (EPA will go berserk) 
    2. The corruption of hell released.. 
  B. Out of The Smoke.. 
    1. Locusts... a terribly destructive force.. Deut.28:38; Joel 1:1-7 
    2. But.. these are not ordinary locusts.. 
III.  A "SATANIC" HORDE from THE SMOKE... 
  A. They Are Given A Description.. 
    1. Looked like horses prepared for battle.. champing at the bit 
    2. Looked like gold crowns on their heads.. (stephanos.. victors) 
    3. Looked like human faces 4. Looked like women's hair.. their seductive powers... 
    5. Looked like lion's teeth.. fierce and powerful 
    6. Equipped with iron breastplates.. invulnerable, indestructible 
    7. Sound of wings.. like the thunderings of many horses & chariots rushing to battle... 
       no place to hide
    8. Tails looked like scorpions.. with stingers  (10) 
	- With these tails they inflict pain & suffering.. their mission 
 ** Horrible in shape, malignant in disposition, armed with power and intent upon using it! 
  B. They Are Given Power.. like scorpions 
  C. They Are Given Orders.. (God is Still Sovereign and in Control) 
    1. Don't harm the grass, plants, or trees (not regular locusts) 
    2. Do focus on those who do not have the seal of God...
	- Perhaps new believers in The Tribulation will have visible seals 
    3. Don't Kill... (can't kill) 
    4. Do Torture for Five Months... 
	- An agonizing five months... men will desire death... 
	- But "death" is gone.. the very torments of hell on earth 
  D. They Are Given A "Leader" 
    1. The "angel" of the abyss..  (Satan or a high ranking demon) 
	- In Hebrew.. he is called "Abaddon"  for the Jew 
	- In Greek.. he is called "Apollyon"  for the Gentile 
FOLKS.. IT'S A FACT..  THE JUDGMENTS OF GOD ARE COMING !!! 
    HELL AND HELL'S TORMENTS ARE NOT MERE MYTHS.... 
      NOT FAR REMOVED... JUST A "DOOR" BETWEEN !! 
GOD HAS A PREPARED PLACE FOR THOSE WHO WILL REPENT OF SIN & TRUST CHRIST 
     AND A PLACE FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS FOLLOWERS !
   WHERE WILL YOU BE ??..   HEAVEN IS JUST A PRAYER AWAY !!!  Ro.10:13 

BUT... THE WORST IS YET TO COME... THERE ARE TWO MORE WOES !
