THE SEVENTH TRUMPET            	    Pastor Bob Chroninger 
Trinity C.U. 1-30-00 A.M.   		Revelation 11:15-19   		
	This Trumpet introduces the Seven Vials of the Wrath of God.. but there is an interlude from
 12:1 through 15:4.  Some will ask, "Why is God so angry?"  "Why is there so much 'wrath'?"  And
 many other such questions.  We must realize that God is HOLY and that His PRECIOUS SON was rejected
 and crucified... and for 2000 years mankind has continued to rebel against God... reject His Son..
 and refuse to repent of sin! 
	The Seventh Trumpet is the 3rd WOE (8:13) and sets in motion the consummation of God's redemptive
 plan.  It covers an extended period of time of about 3 1/2 years and is NOT the "last trump" of
 1Cor.15:52. (That one calls for events in an "twinkling of an eye") This Trumpet calls for "waves"
 of judgment on the ungodly. (Joel2:1,2) 
I.  THE ANNOUNCEMENT... 
  A. It Came As The 7th Trumpet Sounded... 
  B. It Came From A "Great Voice".. 
  C. It Came With Great Anticipation.. (The Coronation of the King!) 
    1. The trumpets were usually sounded at coronations... 
	- When Absalom tried to usurp David's throne.. 2Sam.15:10 
	- When Solomon became king..  1Kings 1:39 
	- Also... Jehu 2Kings 9:13; Joash 2Kings 11:12,14 
    2. The Jewish hope was the coming of their King.. ( Messiah) 
	- O.T. prophecies..  Ex.15:1-8; Psa.2:6-9; Isa.2:2,3; Dan.2:44,45; 7:13,14,18,22,27; 
        Micah 4:1-3; Zech.14:9
	- N.T. expectancies.. Luke 1:31-33; Acts 1:6,7..  etc. 
  D. It Came With An Explanation.. 
    1. The Lord and His Christ SHALL REIGN FOR EVER AND EVER ! 
	- (a future event.. but so certain it is spoken of as being done) 
    2. The Kingdom(s) of this world are become His..(weren't they already?) 
	- Remember one of Satan's temptations..  Mt.4:8-10 
	- Remember.. the first Adam yielded.. and Satan took control!! (2Cor.4:4; John 12:31; 
        14:30; 16:11) 
	- Remember.. this is the theme of Revelation.. 
	   - The triumph of God over Satan.. evil purged.. 
	   - The focus of Christ taking back what is rightfully His! ch.4-11 
II.  THE ACTIONS... 16,18 (the effects are delayed.. but immediate response) 
  A. The Response In Heaven.. 16 from the "24 Elders".. 
    1. They fell on their faces... humility, awe, honor.. 
    2. They worshipped God... saying.. 17  "we give thee thanks"... 
	- To The Almighty One... sovereign, omnipotent, irresistible power! 
	- To The Eternal Living One..  Deut.5:26; Josh.3:10; Heb.12:22 
	- To The Sovereign One.. He will exercise His Power and His full wrath will be unleashed! 
  B. The Response On Earth.. 18 
    1. The nations were angry!.. Psa.2 
	- Their godless, atheistic, Christ rejecting systems will be destroyed. 
	- Their pagan religions, their materialistic economies, their godless philosophies will ALL COME TO
	    AN END!! 
	- Their deep seated hostility reaches its "boiling" point and will ultimately result in "Armageddon"
	     16:14,16; 19:19-21 
III. THE AWARDS... 18, 19 
  A. The Dead Will Be Judged.. a general reference that does not distinguish between the different phases!
	 Jn.5:25,28,29; Acts 17:31; 24:21 
    1. The O.T. saints and Tribulation saints "raptured" at the end of the Tribulation..  Psa.50:1-6 
    2. The "rest of the dead" (all unbelievers) will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment.. 20:11-15 
  B. The Believers Will Be Rewarded.. it will be worth it all to have been faithful and worked hard for Jesus!
	 1Cor.3:8; Mt.5:12; 10:41,42; Col.3:24; 2Tim.4:8; Jas.1:12; Rev.2:10; 1Pet.5:4 
  C. The "Destroyers" of The Earth (unbelievers who polluted it with sin) 
    1. They shall be destroyed.. 
	- The unrepentant unbelievers into "hades"...Mt.25:31-46; Rev.14:14-20; 19:17-21 
	- Beast and False Prophet will be cast into the Lake of Fire! 
	- Satan will be "bound" for a 1000 years.  20:1-3 
  D. The Temple Is Opened in Heaven... 
    1. A sign of "welcome" to believers.. 
	- Covenant blessings for the redeemed. 
	   - Israel, Christians, & Tribulation Saints share One essential in common... a covenant with God by
	     sacrifice (a covenant of blood) Israel... temporarily by animal sacrifices.. Leviticus.. Christians & 
	    Tribulation Saints.. through the Lord Jesus Christ who sacrificed Himself "once for all" 
    2. A beginning of the end for the unrepentant
	- Out of the temple come the 7 bowls of wrath.. 15:4-8 

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION... IF YOU PERSIST IN YOUR UNBELIEF... 
    THERE IS ONLY A FEARFUL FUTURE AHEAD!!  Heb.10:26-28
