THE TWO WITNESSES             	 Pastor Bob Chroninger

	There are two events in this section... one looks forward to the last three and one half 
years...and the other looks back to the beginning of the Tribulation period. 
I.  THE MEASURED TEMPLE..  1,2 (looks to the end...) 
  A. Do Measure The Temple.. altar.. worshippers.. (Jewish) 
    1. In the OT.. there was a difference.. Jews and Gentiles 
    2. In the NT (church age) there is no difference.. all one in Christ 
    3. In the Tribulation.. there will be a difference again... 
	- The predictions.. Zech.13:8,9; 14:1-4 
	- The receiving again of the Jews. re-grafted in.. Ro.11:21-25 
  B. Don't Measure The Court.. Why? 
    1. It is given to the Gentiles.. so is the Holy City (Jerusalem) 
    2. It will be trodden down... 42 months (3 1/2 yrs.; 1260 days) 
II.  THE TWO WITNESSES.. 3-14  (looks back to the beginning) 
  Just To Review... 
    - The antichrist will come on the scene... 
    - He will make an agreement that will involve Israel (Dan.9:27) 
    - The first half of the Tribulation will be relatively peaceful for Israel. 
    - The temple rebuilt.. sacrifices reinstituted.. 
    - The Antichrist will be busy establishing himself.. 
    - There will be resistance.. and he will need to conquer some.. 
	- Probably involved in the huge destruction of  9:18 
    - The Antichrist will be wounded (deadly) ? 13:3 (stage a resurrection) 14 
    - The Antichrist will exalt himself (2Thes.2:4) in the middle (Dan.9:27) 
  And... during the first half.. 
    - There will be the 144,000 sealed Israelites.. all over the world 
    - There will be the Two Witnesses... 
  A. They Are Chosen by God..  Witnesses.. 
    1. They are described here as.. 
	- The two olive trees & two candlesticks.. Zech.4
	- The Two Anointed Ones that stand by the Lord.. Zech.4:14 
    2. They are the "Zerubbabel" & "Jeshua" of the final restitution. Ezek.36
	 - One is Elijah.. Mal.3:4; Mt.17:11; Acts 3:19 (Jewish) 
	- One is Enoch.. (Probably).. (Gentile)  Or... Moses
  B. They Are Protected by God.. vs.5 
    1. Any attempt to hurt them... brings immediate death! 
	- Fire comes from their mouths ! 
    2. A tremendous battle for men's allegiance and souls !! 
  C. They Are Empowered by God.. 
    1. Their Testimony.. Message.. prophetical.. miraculous 
	- Witnessing to the judgment & His soon return to earth... 
	- Elijah.. and John the Baptist... REPENT... 
	- Enoch.. Jude 14,15.. before the flood 
	   - A message of Judgment... & a Call to Repentance 
    2. Their Tenure... 1260 days 
	- Until their work is done.. 
	- Then the Antichrist overpowers and kills them.. 11:7 
	- At this time he exalts himself.. 2Thes.2:4 
	- They will be left exposed and desecrated 3 1/2 days 11:8 
	- They will be the occasion of great rejoicing.. 11:9,10 
  D. They Are Vindicated by God.. 
    1. By their Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven.. 11:11,12 
    2. By the Earthquake in Jerusalem... 13 
WOW !! WHAT A CONFLICT FOR THE SOULS OF MEN! 
    THAT CONFLICT RAGES EVEN NOW... WHO IS WINNING YOUR SOUL?? 
        THE ONE TO WHOM YOU YIELD.... WINS!!! WHO WILL IT BE?
