	What a tremendous journey through the book of Revelation!! I have laid the foundation from
 the Book of Daniel... now we begin a study of this last book of the Bible.  There are various 
 ideas about the book.. from the teaching that it is all fulfilled to the idea that it is only 
 figurative.  But Let's Look at it... 

I.  THE RECIPIENTS.. 1:1,2 
  A. God gave it to Jesus.. 
  B. Jesus gave it to His angel..
  C. His angel was sent to John the apostle.. 
  D. John gave it to His servants.. 
    1. He bore record of the Word, the Testimony, of all he saw 
II.  THE REASON.. 
  A. To Show His Servants.. the "bondslaves" 
    1. Things which must shortly come to pass.. 1:1,3
	- a sense of imminence.....
	    (Ro.13:12; 1Cor.15:51-58; 1Thes.4:13-18; Heb.10:25; Jas.5:7-9; 1Pet.4:7; 1Jn.2:18) 
  B. To Encourage His Servants.. 
    1. "Jailed" John...
    2. Blessed Believers..  3 
	- Blessed are those who read, her, keep.. 
	- Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord..  14:13 
	- Blessed is he that "watches" for the Lord's coming.. 16:15
	- Blessed are those who are bidden to the Lamb's marriage supper.. 19:9 
	- Blessed is he that has part in the first resurrection.. 20:6 
	- Blessed are they that wash their robes.. 22:14 
    3. Giving grace and peace.. vs.4 
    4. Facing fear..  1:17 (John's and for us all) 
  C. To Address The Churches.. 
	- Commendation  -  Condemnation  -  Comfort  -  Call to Repentance 
  D. To Reveal the Coming Christ.. 1:7  (He must return !!!) 
  E. To Provide A Written Record of The Present and The Future.. 1:19 
III.  THE REVELATION.. (Of The Christ) 
  A. He Is The Faithful Witness.. 1:5  He is the "truth" 
  B. He Is The First Begotten of the Dead 
  C. He Is The Prince (ruler) of the kings of the Earth 
  D. He Is The Redeeming One.. 5,6 
    1. He Loved us.. and gave Himself for us!
    2. He Loosed us.. from our sins, by His blood 
    3. He Lifted us..  made us kings and priests.. 6 
  E. He Is The Returning One.. 7.. it is the theme of the book 
    1. With the clouds 
    2. With Power and Great Glory - Every eye shall see Him.. those who pierced Him; reviled Him; 
	rejected Him... Jew and Gentile alike 
    3. To Rule and Reign.. Ps.2:6-9; Is.9:6,7; Jer.23:5-8 (and others) 
  F. He Is The Alpha & Omega.. 8 .. Look at Rev.22:13, 16
    1. The Beginning and the End..  Jehovah's claim in OT  (Is.41:4) 
    2. The Almighty Which is, was, is to come.. no "secondary" god !! 
  G. He Is The Sovereign One.. 1:13 
    1. He was in the midst of the 7 golden candlesticks.. 2:1
	 - The candlesticks are the churches.. 1:20 
    2. He held the 7 stars in His hand.. 1:16 
	- The "stars" are the angels or messengers of the churches 
  H. He is The Awesome One.. 
    1. He was robed with a long garment and golden belt.. 13 
    2. He had hair white as wool and snow.. 14 
    3. He had eyes of flaming fire.. 1:14; 2:18 
    4. He had feet as fine burning brass.. 1:15; 2:18 
    5. He had a voice as the sound of many waters..  1:15 
    6. He had the 7 "stars" in His right hand.. 1:16; 3:1 
    7. He had a sharp two-edged sword out of His mouth.. 1:16; 2:12 (the Word, Eph.6:17; Heb.4:12)
    8. He had a radiance as the sun at its brightest..

   WOW... AND JOHN FELL AT HIS FEET AS A DEAD MAN !!   (1:17)
WHAT AN AWESOME GOD IS HE.. 
	HEAVEN AND EARTH ADORE HIM.. 
	ANGELS BOW BEFORE HIM... 
AND SO SHOULD WE... AMEN !!
