THE TIMES of THE GENTILES I             	 Pastor Bob Chroninger 
Trinity C.U. 7-25-99 A.M.  		Daniel 2:1-49         	 
	Last week I told you about some Important Principles; some Important Periods; and some 
Important Preparations.  One of those important principles leads me to consider... Who is speaking;
To whom; and What about.  Remember there are Three Specific Groups in the Bible... the Jews, the
Gentiles, and the Church. 
	Daniel is one tremendous prophetic book in the Old Testament, but it is essential to the 
understanding prophecy.  I want to deal with Nebuchadnezzar's dream.. and the "Times of the 
Gentiles". 
I.  HIS DREAMS TROUBLED HIM..  2:1 
  A. They came in the second year of his reign 
  B. They troubled his spirit.. and cost him his sleep 
II.  HIS DREAM WAS FORGOTTEN.. 2:5 
  A. He called in his wise men.. (magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, Chaldeans) 
  B. He demanded of them to tell him his dream.. 2:5 
    1. If you don't... disaster.. cut in pieces 
    2. If you do.. promise of reward.. 2:6
 ** But.. they had a problem.. 10-13 
III.  HIS DREAM WAS REVEALED.. 
  A. It was revealed in answer to prayer.. 2:17, 18 
  B. It was revealed to Daniel.. 2:19.. in a night vision 
  C. It was revealed to Nebuchadnezzar by Daniel.. 2:25.. 
	- You saw what will happen in latter days.. 2:28 (what will come to pass hereafter 29)
	- You saw a great image.. 2:31.. bright and terrible 
	   - Its head was of gold.. 2:32 
	   - Its breast and arms were of silver.. 
	   - Its belly and thighs were of brass.. 
	   - Its legs were of iron.. 2:33 
	   - Its feet were part iron and part clay..
	- You saw it until... 2:34 
	   - Until a "stone" (cut out without hands) destroyed it all 
		- Fell on the iron, clay, brass, silver, & gold.. 2:35
		- Broke them to pieces.., they became like chaff.. 
	- You saw the stone become a great mountain, filled the earth 
IV.  HIS DREAM WAS INTERPRETED.. 2:36.. 
  A. You, Nebuchadnezzar, are this "head of gold".. 2:37,38 
    1. God of Heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, glory 
  B. After You Another Kingdom will arise.. inferior to you.. 
    1. The Medo-Persian Empire 
  C. After that A Third of brass.. will rule all the world  2:39 
    1. The Grecian Empire 
  D. After that A Fourth, strong as iron (legs)  2:40 
    1. The Roman Empire  (Eastern and Western) 
  E. Then.. A Fifth of iron and clay mixed.. partly strong, partly broken 
    1. The "Revived" Roman Empire... ten kings.. or rulers.. 2:41,42 
  F. Then..(In the days of these ten kings)  2:44 .. 
    1. The God of Heaven will set up a Kingdom.. (the Stone You saw..) 
	- It Shall Never Be Destroyed 
	- It Shall Not Be Left To Other People (not just taken over..) 
	- It Shall Break In Pieces & Consume these others..  2:45 
V.  HIS DREAM WAS APPLIED..  2:45 
  A. The Great God of Heaven Has Revealed the Future to You.. 
    1. It Shall Come To Pass !!! 
    2. The Dream Is Certain !!! 
    3. The Interpretation Is Sure !!! 
  B. The Great God of Heaven Was Worshipped by Nebuchadnezzar.. 2:46,47 
  C. The Great God of Heaven's Servant Was Promoted.  2:48 
WOW !! WHAT A SCENE!  WHAT A FUTURE !!!  ARE YOU READY ???
