	Have you ever been in a situation where your "peace of mind" was completely GONE?  Have 
you ever experienced REAL PEACE to begin with? Gideon had an experience that, at first, produced great 
fear... but then he discovered the source of Peace....  
	Notice the Record... 
  THERE WAS CONTACT..  vs. 11 
  THERE WAS COMFORT..  vs. 12 
  THERE WAS COMPLAINT..  vs. 13 
  THERE WAS COMMISSION..  vs. 14 
  THERE WAS CONFIRMATION..  vs. 17-21 
  THERE WAS COMMITMENT..  vs. 24 - Gideon built an altar... called it JEHOVAH-SHALOM... 
	- The LORD IS MY PEACE 
I.  THERE IS A FALSE SENSE of PEACE.. 
  A. It was "promised".. 
    1. By Old Testament "false" prophets.. 
	Jer 6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, 
	  peace; when there is no peace. 
    2. By The "World".. 
	Jn.14:27  Jesus’ peace is not like that of the world ! (usually defined as absence of conflict)
  B. It Was Sought After.. 
	Jer 8:15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a   time of health, and behold trouble! 
  C. It Was Sought In The Wrong Places... 
	Isaiah 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they 
	   have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. (KJV) 
  D. It Was Not The Real Peace.. 
	Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. (KJV) 
II.  THERE IS A REAL PEACE AVAILABLE... 
  A. It Comes As A Result of His Provision.. Jehovah-shalom 
	Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon 
	   his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The 
	   everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (KJV) 
	Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the 
	   chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 
	Isaiah 66:12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory
	   of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: 
	Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of 
	   partition between us; (KJV) 
	Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things 
	   unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 
  B. It Comes As A Result of Being "Right" With God.. 
	Job 22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace... 
	Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus 
	   Christ: (KJV) 
	Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and
	   minds through Christ Jesus. 
  C. It Comes As A Result of His Blessing.. 
	Psalms 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with 
	   peace. (KJV) 
  D. It Comes As A Result of Right Living.. 
	Psalms 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
	Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. (KJV) 
	Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a 
	   river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: (KJV) 
	Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he 
	   trusteth in thee. (KJV) 
	Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 
	Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

IT IS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE THAT ROBS US OF PEACE..  2Tim.3:7 

   IT IS FEAR OF UNCERTAINTY THAT ROBS US OF PEACE..  Mark 4:38,40 

     IT IS LACK OF FAITH THAT ROBS US OF PEACE..    Mark 4:40 

        IT IS LACK OF OBEDIENCE THAT ROBS US OF PEACE..    Isaiah 48:18

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. 
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV)
